This class of 2017 band brings hype fusions of rap, jazz, funk, and reggae to the Grinnell Campus. Tuggboat is comprised of Ben Tuggle on drums, Noah Sebek and Michael Owusu on guitar, Phillip Gentle on vocals, Corey Simmonds on piano and vocals, and Yazan Kittaneh on bass and often features. They formed in their sophomore year in order to play the Freesound showcase Showvember at which time they did not even have a band name and were affectionately named by a former Freesound leader Thomas Grabinski. Since, the name has stuck and Tuggboat has gone on to play many more shows.
